It's great to have a base level of strength and know how to properly perform compound exercises such as squats and deadlifts with proper form.

Having access to a fully equipped gym or home gym is preferred. As long as you have a power rack, adjustable dumbbells, a barbell and at least 300lbs of weight plates you're good to go.
